Description of Change
CPC is discontinuing the HFC39 product line. This discontinuation applies to the amber-colored polysulfone HFCs manufactured with a 316L stainless steel valve spring. These discontinued HFC39 products have direct replacements available in the recently launched HFC Disconnect product line.
The HFC Disconnect product line is manufactured with an Alloy C-276 valve spring rather than 316L stainless steel. Aside from the different valve spring, the HFC Disconnect product line is identical in geometry and functionality to the HFC39 product line and is manufactured from the same polysulfone and silicone materials. HFC Disconnect products will not change as a result of the HFC39 product line discontinuation.
Affected Products
Please see Appendix for a list of part numbers that will be discontinued. Please see Appendix B for direct replacement products for each of the products being discontinued.
Reason for Change
With the addition of the HFC Disconnect product line to CPC’s portfolio, there is a level of redundancy within the HFC39 and HFC Disconnect product lines. The additional value that the HFC Disconnect products bring to the market has led CPC to discontinue the HFC39 version of the products. Additional value includes but is not limited to:
- An Alloy C-276 valve spring for additional chemical resistance
- Products sold as connected sets to reduce manufacturing time and quantity of SKUs
- Protective thumb latch cover on connected sets to prevent accidental disconnection
- Protective thumb latch on connected sets to prevent accidental reconnection
- Laser-marked item and lot number for traceability
Qualification of Change
The HFC Disconnect product line was launched in 2020. A validation package for this product line can be downloaded from CPC’s website, HERE.
